Changing Accountant

We appreciate that changing accountant is a major business decision and that many people are unsure as to how the change over process to a new accountant operates. The process is in fact very straight forward and we will ensure that there is a smooth hand over from your old accountant to us should you decide to become our client.

The proprietors of a business have an indisputable right to choose their professional advisors and to change to others should they so desire. In order to facilitate this change all accountants follow a strict code of conduct and procedures to be adopted where a client changes his/her accountant.

Step 1
Arrange a FREE consultation with us to discuss your current requirements, any business issues or concerns you may have and the services that our practice could provide to you.

Step 2
Should you decide to switch to our practice we then notify in writing your previous accountant of your intention to change and request from them whether there are any professional reasons why the new appointment should not go ahead. Your previous accountant will contact you to seek your permission to reply to our letter and once they obtain your permission will duly respond.

Step 3
When we receive professional clearance from your previous accountant we will then arrange for all your relevant books and records being held by your previous accountant to be transferred.

Step 4
We provide you with a letter of engagement setting out your requirements as agreed in Step 1 and our duties as your new accountant.
